Mathematics at home

  • Play board games – those using dice and decision making are great.  Take turns, talk about winning and losing (it happens to us all at some time J)
  • Telling the time – encourage your child to read the clock when they need to know the time.
  • Using coins – have a small budget to work to in a shop or café.  Discuss the value of each coin, totals and change.
  • Counting in 2s, 5s and 10s – forwards and backwards, starting from different numbers etc.
